About the event

Spend an enjoyable summer afternoon walking a working flower farm and learning how to make fabulous bouquets.

After a brief meet-and-greet, you’ll sip a cool drink as we tour through the beautiful Gariss Gardens and discuss the planting, pruning, and watering techniques that keep a flower garden producing blossoms for the entire season. For gardeners, this knowledge could be a game changer.  For those who don’t garden, the information will help you select commercially purchased flowers for maximum enjoyment and longevity.

LEARN:

-How to encourage flowering plants to produce more blossoms for a longer period of time

-How to keep flowering plants healthy during the entire growing season

-How to select what to cut, when to cut it and where on the plant to cut

-How to select store-bought flowers that will give you the best bang-for-your-buck

After a snack break and another cool beverage, we will work with heaps of fresh-picked flowers, crafting bouquets for you to take home.

LEARN:

-How to select flowers that visually compliment each other

-The importance of greenery and fillers

-How to create a bouquet structure that will stay beautiful for a long while

-How to increase the vase life of all your cut flowers
